Dear reader,

Due to persistent and recurring depression, after much hesitation, I underwent an individual psilocybin session with Reineke Brandt on January 22, 2025. I had been following developments regarding psilocybin for the treatment of depressive symptoms for years.

My experience with Triptherapie has been very good.

That was down to the entire procedure. From the 1e The contact, the lead-up to the session, everything went pleasantly and clearly, and I experienced it as good. (No shady goings-on in back rooms. Or party drug scenes.)

This also applies to the support from the organization during the preparation, the session itself, and the follow-up contacts surrounding the session. Because I found it quite nerve-wracking myself, here are some of my experiences. And what is also very important—because you can go through quite a lot—do not underestimate the importance of your own good preparation and attitude towards undergoing a session.

What happened after the session and the morning after?

  • The perception of time changed completely; it was sometimes virtually timeless;
  • Slept strangely, kind of sleeping while dreaming;
  • Many physical sensations (cold, warm, sweating, stomach and intestines, heavy body and heavy limbs, full in a pleasant way, no hunger or thirst during the first part of the session);
  • No hangover or feeling unwell the next day;
  • However, the next day I was still vague, floaty, and certainly not sharp or able to react quickly, operate machinery, or drive a car. ( - Tip: Plan the next day off or take a day off.-)
  • Mild headache the day after.
  • Many and very clear, palpable sensations in the brain and throughout the entire head, throughout the day. A sort of non-painful tickle. (Compare to the feeling of a feather on the skin, but in the brain.)
  • Food and drink. No desire for coffee, and that was the case for about 10 days afterwards. Still don't want to eat heavy meals, and still tolerate fatty food less well than before. Mushrooms in food do taste much stronger, though.
  • The GABA supplement + paracetamol for the evening and the next day was a good tip from RB.
  • I traveled to the location the evening before, which meant I didn't have to stress about being on time the next day during rush hour. And I also stayed overnight at the location the night after that because I was completely wasted.

Conclusions:

The psilocybin trip therapy was a good move for me. It was a beautiful and pleasant experience; I am very happy with it, and it has brought me a lot of good. I am much less gloomy.

And mentally, I am 10 kilos lighter, so to speak. I also gained many insights and observations. About and within myself.

And the effect (difficult to describe in words) is still there now, March 18, 2025.

In short: A substantial and significant improvement; I am starting to get hope again. And I haven't felt this good for such a long period in years. I will certainly repeat this again, possibly this year, otherwise next year.

Yours sincerely,

KM.
