Can someone who uses Xarelto (rivaroxaban) participate in a truffle ceremony (psilocybin)?

Rivaroxaban (Xarelto) has a direct effect on one of the clotting factors in the blood. It inhibits the action of fXA (factor Xa'), an important component of blood clotting. By inhibiting factor Xa, rivaroxaban reduces blood clotting and lowers the risk of blood clot formation, thereby preventing thrombosis. Psilocybin from truffles has no direct influence on fXA and therefore appears to be safe to use. Nevertheless, side effects of Rivaroxaban should be taken into account if someone wishes to participate in a truffle ceremony. If someone is already experiencing side effects such as bleeding (nose/gums/stool) or swelling, it is advisable not to participate.

Always consult your treating physician before deciding to participate in a truffle ceremony. Whether it is safe depends primarily on the condition of the heart and the use of various medications.
