What is psilohuasca?
Psilohuasca is a psychedelic mixture in which psilocybin-containing truffles or mushrooms are combined with the MAO inhibitor Banisteriopsis Caapi, which is also found in ayahuasca is used. It can help access the subconscious, release emotional blockages, gain insights, and connect with the true self.

Psilohuasca is a combination of psilocybin (from truffles or magic mushrooms) with an MAO inhibitor, usually Banisteriopsis Caapi — the same vine that is also used in ayahuasca. The goal of this combination is to enhance, prolong, and deepen the effects of psilocybin, making the trip more spiritual and intense.
Although psilocybin is orally active on its own, the addition of an MAO inhibitor further slows down the slow breakdown process of psilocin. As a result, the psychedelic effects last longer, there are often more visual effects, and the trip is experienced as more profound.
But: There are risks involved psilohuasca. MAO inhibitors block the breakdown of several substances, including tyramine (from food), serotonin, dopamine, and various medications. This increases the risk of side effects such as high blood pressure, nausea, vomiting, and drug interactions. Therefore, psilohuasca requires strict tyramine-restricted diet and prior medical screening.
Triptherapie recommends psilohuasca less than other options., precisely because of the risks. Instead, is more often psiloflora used. This is psilocybin in combination with Passiflora incarnata (passionflower), a mild MAO inhibitor with calming properties. Psiloflora prolongs and deepens the trip without the downsides of Banisteriopsis Caapi.
In practice, many people who a ayahuasca-like experience want to, but legally and more safely, for psiloflora or a high dose truffle ceremony. These choices are less taxing on the body and more predictable in effect and safety.
