Prolonged suspicion and negative feelings can also be classified as a bad trip. In our view, a bad trip is not a psychedelic session that may be slightly uncomfortable or frightening at the beginning and that can subsequently yield valuable information and insights.

There are various factors that can cause a trip to turn into a bad trip, and these factors often relate to intention, expectation, and location (set and setting). Additionally, there are certain mental conditions that significantly increase the risk of a bad trip and can thereby worsen the condition.
