Eating less gluten can reduce fibromyalgia.

Even if you do not have celiac disease, you can be sensitive to gluten. Non-celiac gluten sensitivity is a common trigger for fibromyalgia.

If you do not have a severe reaction to gluten, it can be easy to miss non-celiac gluten sensitivity, but sensitivity to gluten is fairly common. Eating gluten can quietly lower your energy levels and (intestinal)cause inflammation, which can contribute to fibromyalgia. Avoiding grains and gluten has even more benefits, by the way.

Try to avoid gluten and see how it affects you. You might notice a big difference.

Gluten is found in:

  • Wheat
  • Rye
  • Barley
  • Couscous
  • Bulgur
  • Semolina
  • Flower
  • Self-raising flour
  • Bread-crumbs
  • Cereal muesli or cruesli
  • Beer
