MDMA session
In the near future, will MDMA therapy become legal and then it is easier to a MDMA session to undergo. We expect that psilocybin will then primarily be used for depression and addictions, and MDMA more for PTSD. Although psilocybin is currently used in mild doses for PTSD, MDMA will eventually gain the upper hand. Especially if MDMA can be used legally, which is not yet the case.
Psilocybin for PTSD
Psilocybin is also effective for PTSD, provided the trip induces a period of contentment and happiness. When the brain is in a state of contentment thanks to the active substances, it responds differently to triggers that normally fuel anxiety. Successful psilocybin sessions for PTSD include a component of exposure therapy, provided everything goes smoothly.

MDMA therapy with MDMA analogue is already possible
There are substances that are chemically related to MDMA, known as MDMA analogues or analogue, which are not on the list of the Opium Act. These analogues have a similar structure and effect to MDMA, but with subtle differences that make them legal for use.
The MDMA analogues used in therapies are designed to mimic the therapeutic effects of MDMA without the legal complications associated with the use of the illegal substance. This makes it possible to offer MDMA-like sessions in a therapeutic context, focusing on improving mental health without the risks of legal prosecution.
Moreover, the MDMA analogues used in therapies are often less neurotoxic and have a different risk profile, making them more suitable for therapeutic settings. This offers an opportunity to harness the benefits of MDMA therapy, such as reducing anxiety and promoting empathy, without the legal and health risks associated with the use of the illegal substance.
