Thanks to our form of trip therapy, our clients report having more self-confidence. In our view, this is due to increased self-acceptance and a reduction in irrational fears.

At its core, self-confidence is the belief that you are good enough as you are, and that you are capable of handling challenges as soon as they arise. You therefore have a sense of being able to handle a variety of situations. When that confidence is low, you often see doubt, perfectionism, social insecurity, or the feeling of “being found out.” This can become deeply ingrained due to past experiences, upbringing, bullying, rejection, or prolonged stress.

At Triptherapie, we look not only at behavior but also at the underlying patterns and neurochemistry. Low self-esteem is rarely purely a “thinking error”; it is usually a combination of beliefs, emotional charge, and sometimes even biological factors such as serotonin or dopamine imbalance.

Psychedelic guidance can be supportive here in a number of ways.

1. Insight into the origin

During a guided session, deeper layers often surface: old beliefs (“I am not good enough”), stored emotions, or moments when you started adapting yourself. By reliving those experiences in a safe setting, you can process and re-evaluate them differently.

2. Breaking negative self-images

Psychedelics can temporarily loosen rigid thought patterns. This creates space to view yourself with gentleness rather than harsh self-criticism. Many participants describe being able to truly accept themselves for the first time or even feel compassion for their younger selves.

3. Strengthening connectedness

A lack of self-confidence often goes hand in hand with a feeling of separation. During a session, people frequently experience a deep connection with themselves, others, or life in a broader sense. This can restore a fundamental sense of “I have the right to exist.”.

It is important to note, however, that this is not a miracle cure. In the episode of Spuiten en Slikken in which Triptherapie participated, It was also emphasized that psychedelics are not an official medical treatment and that careful screening is essential. Therefore, we always start with a comprehensive intake to rule out risks and determine if a course of treatment is appropriate.

For people who want to structurally strengthen their self-confidence through profound inner work, can psychedelic therapy be a suitable format. In doing so, we combine preparation, the session itself, and post-session integration. This integration is particularly crucial: insights must be translated into concrete behavior, setting boundaries, making different choices, and gaining new experiences.

What I would like to share with you is that self-confidence is not something you “turn on.” It grows when you understand yourself better, process old pain, and gain new, corrective experiences. Often, a guided psychedelic experience can act as a catalyst in this process.
