My name is Marcel van der Putten and I am the founder of Triptherapie. Triptherapie originated from a fusion of passion, experience, and a deep conviction: psychedelics, when used correctly, can be a transformative force for body and mind.
I was originally trained in chemistry and biochemistry, but for a long time my path led me through the world of retail and technology. Yet, my fascination with health, psychology, nutrition, and well-being always remained in the background. For years, I devoured scientific publications on neurochemistry, herbal medicine, nutrition, sports, and mental health. When I subsequently gained personal experience with psychedelics—initially with magic truffles—everything fell into place. The therapeutic power of these substances was undeniable. Not only in myself, but also in others I began to guide.
That is how it is Triptherapie born: a platform for personal growth, mental healing, and spiritual deepening using psychedelics, combined with a holistic lifestyle approach. What makes Triptherapie unique is that we focus not only on the trip itself, but specifically on what happens before and after the session. We guide people with careful preparation, tailored advice on nutrition, supplements, and lifestyle, and with post-session integration to anchor the insights in daily life.
As a trip guide, I have by now more than 2,200 facilitated sessions and spacious yourself 170 psychedelic experiences I have experienced this. I have seen how people with depression, anxiety, PTSD, loss, a negative self-image, or ingrained patterns can reconnect with their inner strength and truth thanks to a well-guided session. The insights that emerge during a session are often so striking that you learn to understand and accept yourself on a deeper level. It is my mission to offer that space — safe, warm, discreet, and fully attuned to your process.
In 2019, I was also active as a representative for the Netherlands at Thank You Plant Medicine, a global initiative that advocates for the therapeutic use of psychedelic plants and fosters connection between users, therapists, and society. That involvement also gives my work an activist edge: I believe that these substances should be available legally, responsibly, and with compassion to everyone who needs them.
I work from Noordwijkerhout and facilitates sessions throughout the Netherlands, both at our location in Schiedam as in people's homes, hotels, or Airbnbs. My approach is calm, well-founded, and intuitive — a combination of science, experience, and humanity.
My vision on psychedelic therapy is simple: You are not broken. What you feel, think, or experience is often a natural reaction to your past or your environment. Psychedelics do not help you 'repair,' but show you that you are already whole — and that healing lies primarily in acceptance, insight, and connection.
