Can I become psychotic from a trip session? I have used MDMA before and psilocybin in small amounts.
The use of psychedelics, such as psilocybin and MDMA, can pose risks for some people, especially if there is a history of mental illness. However, the risk of psychosis is very low for individuals over the age of 23 who have already tried substances such as psychedelics or cannabis and have not experienced psychosis as a result. Nevertheless, the use of substances such as psychedelics is discouraged for people who are or have been psychotic. This also applies to people with schizophrenia. Furthermore, you should be cautious if you have immediate family members who have experienced psychosis.
