Does Triptherapie have a license to work with psychedelics such as LSD, MDMA, and psilocybin?
Triptherapie may psychedelic therapy offer under a number of conditions. First, as of 2024, psychedelic sessions are not recognized as medical treatments, and under the law, the sessions are now classified as coaching, talk therapy, music therapy, or aromatherapy while the person is under the influence of a legal psychedelic. Second, only legal variants of psilocybin, MDMA, and LSD may be used. These variants are not listed in the list of prohibited substances and are therefore (currently) free to use.
Currently, there are no licenses for psychedelic therapy. We expect this to change in 2025/2026 due to regulation, at which point we will join the movement and apply for licenses. Until then, thanks to our legal structure, we are permitted to legally offer psychedelic therapy to clients on Dutch territory.

@revan:
It is indeed true that there is little noticeable progress and that regulation is slow to materialize. We currently believe that it will not happen even by 2026. Nevertheless, we can legally facilitate psychedelic sessions, including with a team of therapists. All of this is done under coaching and not as medical therapy. Despite this, we have registered therapists who can provide guidance during a trip, and they have been trained internally by us and externally by RINO. But again, they do the work as tripsitter, not as therapists. Still, it is nice to know that they can work as therapists!

It is now 2026, but I still see little shift towards regulation. In other countries, you see more progress now, such as Germany (with magic mushrooms), Australia, the Czech Republic, and some states in the US. The Netherlands risks falling behind again!
