What does the word psychedelic mean?

The word "psychedelic" is derived from the Greek word "psyche," meaning "mind" or "soul," and "delos," meaning "to manifest" or "to reveal." Together, therefore, it literally means "mind-manifestation" or "the revealing of the mind." Psychedelic substances are psychoactive agents that can alter a person's perception, emotions, and consciousness. These substances can lead to intense experiences that are often characterized by visual and auditory hallucinations, changes in sensory perception, and the opening up of emotions.

Psychedelics, such as LSD, psilocybin (the active ingredient in magic mushrooms), and DMT, have the potential to induce profound psychological and spiritual experiences. Research has shown that these substances, when used in a controlled and therapeutic setting, can contribute to the treatment of various mental disorders, such as depression, anxiety disorders, and post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD).

The recent renewed interest in psychedelics within science and medicine has led to a growing number of studies investigating the therapeutic benefits of these substances. This has also contributed to a shift in the public perception of psychedelics, from stigma and misunderstandings to a recognition of their potential for healing and personal growth.

At Triptherapie, we have helped over 2,400 people utilize psychedelics for spiritual and therapeutic purposes. Take a look at what the different sessions with various psychedelics entail via the links below.
