How much time should be in between hippie flip trips?

There has not been set an exact duration that should be between hippie flip trips. It is important to allow yourself some time for the recovery and integration after a trip. Because the hippieflips contains MDMA it is recommended to not use MDMA, and also the hippieflip, more than six times a year and a minimum of 4 weeks beween usage. It also happens more often that people leave 2 months in between of sessions to have a better integration and a full recovery the neurotranmitters that we're used during the hippie flip session.

In research they do a burst of 3 MDMA sessions in like 3 months time and the a wait time of 3 to 6 months.

I would say 1 up to 3 months is the perfect interval!

If you stay below using MDMA 6 times a year and not too much each time, you're probably on the good side.

Three times MDMA per six months is doable. Don't overdo it and don't deplete your own serotonin and dopamine by taking it too many times without any recovery time Every high dose of MDMA takes about two months to recover based on your lifestyle.

Based on the available data, I'd suggest aiming for at least 4 weeks minimum between hippie flip trips, but ideally 2-3 months for proper recovery. Since hippieflip combines MDMA and psilocybin, you need to consider MDMA's impact on serotonin, so the general rule of max 6 times annually with proper spacing is important. Many experienced users find that spreading sessions further apart (every 2-3 months) allows better integration of the experience and full neurochemical recovery.

The best wait time is partly how much time you need to integrate the session, but also not doing it too frequently.

The waiting time between hippie flip trips is important for your health and recovery. A hippie flip combines MDMA and psilocybin, so you must take both into consideration.

Because MDMA has a strong impact on your neurotransmitters, especially serotonin, it is crucial to be careful with frequency. It is recommended not to use MDMA more than six times a year, with at least four weeks in between. This gives your body sufficient time to replenish neurotransmitters and allow recovery to take place.

However, many users and researchers prefer waiting two to three months between sessions. This allows for better recovery of neurotransmitters and gives your psyche more time to process and integrate the experience. Integration is essential after psychedelic experiences because you need to process the insights and emotions you have taken away.

In research settings, we often see a so-called burst approach where three MDMA sessions take place close together over a period of three months, followed by a long waiting period of three to six months. However, this is under professional supervision.

A minimum of four weeks is an absolute lower limit; it is not something you should do regularly. Ideally, you are better off with two to three months, or even better, spreading your sessions out so that you do no more than two to three per year. This gives your body much more time for full recovery and ensures that each trip has more meaning because you have truly integrated the previous one.

The general consensus around here seems to be 2-3 months minimum, and I think that's solid advice. But let me add some practical context that might help you decide what works best for your situation.

With a hippie flip, you're dealing with both MDMA's serotonergic stress and psilocybin's psychological intensity. The MDMA is really the limiting factor here - your serotonin system needs genuine recovery time, not just surface-level healing.

The "4 week minimum" people mention is technically the bare minimum, but it's like saying you can drive a car on fumes - technically possible, but not recommended. If you're doing this regularly, your neurotransmitters never fully recover. What happens then is each trip becomes less impactful and requires more substance to achieve the same effect.

Here's what I'd suggest based on how frequently you want to use:

1. If you're doing 1-2 hippie flips per year: 3-4 months between sessions gives you solid recovery and integration time. Every experience means something.

2. If you're aiming for 3-4 per year: space them out to every 2.5-3 months. This is still sustainable if your lifestyle supports good sleep, nutrition, and mental health.

3. More than 4-5 per year: You're genuinely risking neurotransmitter depletion. The research shows why the "6 times annually max" guideline exists.

Also consider: What's your integration like between trips? The waiting time isn't just biological recovery - it's psychological integration. If you rush into another trip before processing the last one, you miss the real medicine. Some people need 4 months just psychologically, others are ready in 6 weeks.

Bottom line: 2-3 months is your sweet spot for most people wanting sustainable use. Anything shorter and you're cutting recovery time. Anything longer and you're fine, but you might lose some of the momentum if that matters to you.
