When will MDMA-assisted psychotherapy become an official treatment?
At this moment is MDMA-assisted psychotherapy not yet an officially recognized treatment. However, there are promising results from clinical trials regarding the effectiveness of MDMA in the treatment of post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD). These studies have shown that MDMA-assisted psychotherapy can lead to a significant reduction in PTSD symptoms in participants.
Currently, hard work is being done to obtain approval from government agencies, such as the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA), for the treatment of PTSD with MDMA-assisted psychotherapy. In the United States, MDMA-assisted psychotherapy is currently in the third phase of clinical trials, which is the final phase before approval can be obtained.
In the Netherlands, an advisory body has advised the cabinet to approve MDMA as an aid to psychotherapy. We expect that the necessary changes to legislation and regulations will take at least another two years to materialize.

In this way, we can legally work with a substance that has comparable therapeutic effects to MDMA.
