What does MDMA do to empathy?
The use of MDMA increases the propensity for empathy, which in turn leads to a better understanding of both self and others. This has a positive effect on building a trusting relationship with the therapist and facilitates exploration and discussion of trauma. Also, MDMA helps in approaching experiences from a different perspective, which contributes to processing anxiety and traumatic memories. This can lead to a different perspective and feeling when it comes to remembering the trauma.
