Group sessions with psilocybin at Triptherapie

At Triptherapie, we see that people interested in a guided psychedelic group session are far from always looking for the same thing. One in particular wants a carefully guided truffle ceremony with overnight stay, while another needs more time for integration, deepening and personal fine-tuning. That is why we do not offer one standard form, but several group forms, each with its own character. Within our offer, you can choose from a truffle ceremony, An two-day psilocybin retreat and a four-day psilocybin retreat.

What these group sessions have in common is that we look not only at the ceremony itself, but at the entire process around it. Our group page therefore clearly states that participation starts with a online intake, so we can first screen whether participation is appropriate and safe at that time. This is followed by preparation based on the intake, the group session itself, an overnight stay on location and attention to integration afterwards. Our group sessions include standard items such as a personal preparation plan, guidance during the ceremony, food, overnight stay, breakfast and a telephone integration call.

Why choose a group session?

A group session has a different dynamic from a private session. Open group ceremonies not only provide space for introspection and personal growth, but also offer connection and group support. Precisely that shared field can provide an extra sense of security for many people. You don't have to carry the process alone, while at the same time there remains enough space for your own inner journey. For many participants, this is a fine middle ground between fully individual work and a more intensive retreat form.

We consciously opt for small scale. At the truffle ceremonies in Schiedam, we apply a maximum of six participants and at The Bedding in Den Bosch a maximum of four. When the group consists of four to six participants, two supervisors are present. This small scale makes it possible for us to combine peace, attention and personal guidance with the added value of a group.

Our truffle ceremony

The truffle ceremony is the most accessible and compact form within our group offerings. This ceremony is intended for people who want to experience the power of a group setting, but are not yet immediately looking for a multi-day programme. We tailor the preparation and ceremony to the participant's abilities and wishes. Afterwards, food, overnight stay, possibly breakfast, post-session tips and an integration talk are included. The ceremony page also states that most participants are under the influence for between four and seven hours, with a peak experience of about two to three hours.

Practically, this form is also manageable. Prices for a group ceremony range between 600 and 650 euros per participant, including psychedelics, food, drinks and accommodation. Doses are between 15 and 75 grams of truffles, depending on person, setting and guidance room. This makes this form especially suitable for people who want a well-guided ceremony with preparation and aftercare, without the programme directly including several days of therapeutic depth.

Our two-day psilocybin retreat

The two-day psilocybin retreat is designed for people who want more than just a day of ceremonies. It is a coherent programme where encounter, experience, integration and embodiment carry each other. The first day is all about arriving, opening and the ceremony itself. The second day is all about letting what you have experienced land, not only mentally but also in your body, your relationships and your daily life. There is also an online follow-up via Zoom about a month later.

What makes this retreat strong is that integration is truly part of the programme and not just a short afterthought. The therapeutic approaches used are IFS, body-centred therapy and Feldenkrais, Yoga Nidra, mindfulness and ACT to help anchor insights into daily life. The retreat takes place at The Bedding in Den Bosch, a floating location on the Ertveldplas where peace, privacy and natural stillness are key. The price of this two-day course is 950 euros and at this location the group size is limited to a maximum of four people.

Our four-day psilocybin retreat

The four-day psilocybin retreat is our most comprehensive group programme. It is a psychedelic retreat with a carefully constructed programme in which preparation, ceremony and integration support each other. The structure consists of intake, personal preparation, an online group preparation, a first arrival evening, a ceremony day, an extended integration day, a concluding fourth day and an online follow-up about six weeks later. With that, this retreat is intended for people who consciously choose more bedding, more time and more depth around their inner process.

Within this four-day programme, we work with a broad mix of modalities, including IFS, Voice Dialogue, TSM Psychodrama, Interpersonal Mindfulness, self-compassion-oriented work, breath work, TRE and Yoga Nidra. On the integration day, the programme includes witnessing, relational meditation, symbolic work, creative integration and symbol drama. The retreat will take place at the Psychedelic Loft in Schiedam and costs 1350 euros, including lots of therapeutic support and three nights' accommodation.

The supervisors and their working style

The two-day retreat will be guided by Gijs Tecklenburg and Mascha Loschmann. Gijs has been working at the intersection of meditation, consciousness and psychotherapy for decades. Mascha has over thirty years of experience in body-centred work, including IFS, yoga-based trauma therapy, Feldenkrais and systemic work. Their combination of silence, awareness, embodiment and experience fits well with a retreat that focuses not only on ceremony but also on integration. This combination of mental health experience, meditation, compassion and consciousness work is also evident on Gijs's profile page.

The four-day retreat is guided by Ronald Hochstenbach and Reineke Brandt. They have both completed the RINO training in psychedelic therapy and further deepened their knowledge of the Triptherapie protocol at Triptherapie. Ronald is a psychosocial therapist and mindfulness trainer with a background in psychodrama, Voice Dialogue, IFS and compassion training, among others. Reineke works as a psychologist, breath coach and yoga teacher, with experience in mindfulness, breath work and trauma-sensitive counselling, among others. As a result, their style fits well with a retreat in which deepening, inner work and integration are spread over several days.

Our locations as part of the experience

Within Triptherapie, we see the location not as a backdrop but as part of the bedding. The Bedding in Den Bosch is a floating location on the water where peace, privacy and natural stillness are central. On the location page, we describe how water, air and greenery there contribute to relaxation and mental space. For the two-day retreat, this fits well with a programme that focuses on slowing down, embodiment and integration.

The Psychedelic Loft in Schiedam has a different character. Located in a historic building in Schiedam, this venue offers views of De Noord Molen and is decorated with art and objects that help define the atmosphere of the space. The loft is easily accessible by public transport, has two separate bedrooms with multiple beds, making it practically suitable for group ceremonies and overnight retreats. The location page also says that many participants come from the Rotterdam and The Hague region, but that the location is also convenient for people travelling from further afield or abroad.

Which group form fits best?

Those primarily looking for a well-guided group ceremony with preparation, overnight stay and an integration discussion will often gain the most from the truffle ceremony. This form is more manageable in time and budget, but does offer the key components we consider essential, such as screening, preparation, supervision, overnight stay and aftercare.

Those who find that precisely landing after the experience requires a lot of attention will often be a better fit for the two-day psilocybin retreat. There, the ceremony is the heart of the programme, but the second day and follow-up help to really take insights into daily life. That makes this format suitable for people who not only want to experience something, but also consciously take time to work with it.

On the contrary, those who want the most time, structure and depth are more likely to end up at the four-day psilocybin retreat. Here the space for preparation, ceremony, integration and follow-up is greatest. As a result, this form particularly suits people who are not just looking for a special experience, but for a more extensive journey in which awareness, integration and personal development are really given time.

Starting at Triptherapie

Those wishing to participate in a group session should start with the online intake from Triptherapie. From that screening, we can help think about what form is the best fit, whether that is a truffle ceremony, An two-day psilocybin retreat or a four-day psilocybin retreat is. Those who want to look at dates and set-up first can also go straight to the agenda of group sessions view. That way, from calmness, clarity and proper preparation, you can choose the group format that really suits you.
