At Triptherapie Netherlands We have noticed a shift taking place in terms of whether our clients opt for group sessions or fully private, one-to-one coaching, particularly during the summer months. In this post, we aim to understand why more and more clients are choosing our group truffle ceremonies and truffle retreats.
What are the reasons why more and more people are opting for group ceremonies?
There are several factors at play here:
First and foremost, the price is an important factor for many people. A group ceremony is considerably more affordable than a fully private programme, whilst participants still benefit from professional guidance, a carefully prepared setting, an intake assessment and aftercare. This makes a guided psychedelic experience accessible to a wider group of people.
In addition, we see a marked increase in international participants during the summer months. People from Belgium, Germany, France, the United Kingdom and beyond combine a holiday in the Netherlands with a guided truffle ceremony. For them, a group ceremony is often a practical and affordable option, which also allows them to meet like-minded people from different countries.
Another advantage is that accommodation is included in our group ceremonies. After an intensive experience, participants do not have to travel home straight away, but can recover at their own pace, dine together, sleep and take part in a group integration session the following morning before they leave. This helps to ensure a safer and more relaxed conclusion to the experience.
The venues also play a part in the choice. The Psychedelic Loft in Schiedam has been refurbished in such a way as to provide greater comfort and privacy. In addition to the large ceremony room, there are now two bedrooms available, so that participants who need them can find more peace and seclusion during the ceremony and overnight stay. This makes the venue feel more spacious and personal than before.
For those looking for a very intimate setting, De Bedding in 's-Hertogenbosch is an attractive alternative. At this venue, a maximum of three participants take part in a group ceremony. This ensures the atmosphere remains intimate and there is plenty of personal attention, whilst participants still experience the added value of a shared ceremony.
Finally, we have noticed that many people find the group dynamics valuable. Although the psychedelic journey is largely an inner process, a sense of shared understanding often emerges during the preparation, the communal meal and the integration sessions. Sharing experiences with others can strengthen feelings of connection and help participants to better contextualise their insights. At the same time, there remains ample space during the ceremony for everyone to follow their own process.
It is precisely the combination of professional guidance, a safe environment, accommodation included, a variety of venues, each with its own character, and an affordable price that is leading more and more people to choose a group ceremony as their first introduction to psychedelic work or as a follow-up to previous personal development.
Additional ceremony planned
We have scheduled additional ceremonies for July 2026, but these are also almost fully booked. The next truffle ceremony is on 18 July 2026 at De Bedding venue in Den Bosch and still has two places available. In addition, at the time of writing, we also have an extra ceremony on 28 July 2026 in the Psychedelic Loft in Schiedam.
Tip: We also have a Four-day truffle retreat with a full day of integration for people who want to get started straight away with therapists to work on applying the insights. These are scheduled for 20–23 August 2026 and 17–20 December 2026
