Why would you want to do trip therapy?

We offer our services to give our clients a safe and satisfied feeling. We want everyone to benefit from it. The objective of a trip session can vary from person to person. Below, we provide various reasons for doing a trip session in combination with psilocybin:

  • Due to the positive reports of the results of scientific studies, people are becoming interested in experiencing it themselves.
  • Because a healthier lifestyle is necessary and trip therapy can contribute to greater self-esteem.
  • The person suffers from anxiety, depression, or post-traumatic stress disorder and found that medication and/or conventional therapy did not work well.
  • People have heard or read that addictions, such as smoking, can be remedied.
  • The aim is to explore the connection between mind and body and make the subconscious conscious.
  • Because psychedelics can offer emotional, physical, and spiritual healing, and one can turn to them as a last attempt at healing.
  • Because a trip session can bring about psychological and spiritual growth.
  • For an individualistic person to become more open and social
  • To make contact with that which is believed in (religion/universe/etc.)
  • To process death and loss
  • To evaluate oneself without self-protection
  • To find the meaning of life or other goals
  • To improve overall well-being
  • To get rid of all worries and be able to live with joy again

For whom is trip therapy not suitable?

We want to help everyone, but unfortunately, we cannot. Unfortunately, we have to turn away individuals who:

  • Be younger than 21 years (preferably older than 23 years)
  • Being or having recently been psychotic
  • To be schizophrenic
  • using SSRIs, MAO inhibitors, TCAs, or other psychoactive medication (this medication must be tapered off first)
  • Severe heart problems and/or receiving medication for cardiovascular function

General policy

Before we accept a client for a trip session, it is important that they take a neurotransmitter test, which we offer via our website. In the case of severe abnormalities, work must first be done to restore balance. We can advise on diet and/or supplements. We do this to maximize the results of trip therapy. .

Triptherapie with psilocybin is essentially a form of psychedelic therapy in which the active ingredient psilocybin — extracted from legal magic truffles — is used to break psychological patterns. The approach is aimed at people struggling with issues such as depression, anxiety, trauma, or a lack of meaning in life. However, the question “for whom is psilocybin therapy suitable?” has multiple layers.

According to Triptherapie.nl are there various reasons why people sign up for a truffle session, ranging from treatment options for therapy-resistant complaints to strengthening self-insight, spiritual growth, or processing loss. Many participants seek an alternative method after traditional therapies and medication (such as SSRIs) provided insufficient relief. Experiences from the Triptherapie forum show that participants are often seeking healing on multiple levels: emotional, physical, and spiritual.

Triptherapie recommends participation in, among others:

  • Treatment-resistant depression
  • Post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD)
  • Anxiety disorders (including existential anxiety regarding illness or dying)
  • Addictions such as smoking or alcohol
  • Burnout and weariness of life
  • Questions about meaning and spiritual unrest

For people with a strong interest in profound inner processes, a psilocybin session, possibly combined with methodologies such as Internal Family Systems (IFS), can be particularly valuable. As discussed in a Forum topic about IFS therapy, underlying parts of the personality can manifest during a session, enabling powerful emotional breakthroughs.

However, psilocybin is not suitable for everyone. Contraindications include:

  • Psychotic disorders (such as schizophrenia or bipolar disorder type I)
  • Use of certain medication (such as SSRIs or MAO inhibitors)
  • Cardiovascular diseases
  • Pregnancy or breastfeeding

An important first step is therefore filling out a intake form, which assesses medical background, mental health, and suitability for psychedelic therapy.

In short: psilocybin therapy It is particularly suitable for people who are open to introspection and willing to work on themselves under safe and professional guidance. If in doubt, a no-obligation intake can provide clarity on whether and how this form of therapy can support you.

It is indeed good to describe for whom a psilocybin ssssie is suitable. There are many possibilities for personal growth and therapy. However, do indeed watch out for the mentioned contraindications. Physically, psilocybin is very safe; however, you must be very careful when combining it with other substances and medications. Truffles, magic mushrooms, or psilocybin can sometimes help people with psychiatric conditions, but they can also worsen their condition. Therefore, always seek advice if you think you have a contraindication.

More and more people are becoming interested in psychedelic experiences with psilocybin, the active ingredient in magic truffles. Some discover it through scientific research, others through personal stories or an inner curiosity about consciousness and personal growth. Whatever the reason, a guided psychedelic session can be valuable for many different people.

With an organization like Triptherapie or similar facilitators, the focus is on ensuring everyone receives an experience that suits their background, intention, and level of experience. Whether you have never used a psychedelic substance before or already have experience, a well-guided session can offer new insights and experiences.

Every journey is unique, because every person is unique. The intention, preparation, and personal circumstances together determine how a session takes shape.

For beginners and experienced psychonauts

Many people considering a psychedelic session have never used psychedelics before. That is perfectly normal. A first encounter with psilocybin is often accompanied by curiosity, but also by questions or slight tension. Therefore, proper guidance always begins with preparation, explanation, and a dosage that suits the individual.

For beginners, this usually means a calm and safe introduction to the psychedelic world. The experience can be seen as a first step into a new landscape of consciousness, where an experienced guide is always present to offer support.

Even for people who already have experience with psychedelics, a guided setting can be very beneficial. Some experienced users want to go deeper than they dare at home or seek a different approach than they are accustomed to. With professional guidance, a session can become more intense, safer, and often more meaningful. The session is then tailored to previous experiences, building upon what the individual already knows.

Why people choose a psychedelic session

The reasons for having a truffle session are very diverse. Some people come because of positive scientific results regarding psilocybin. Research shows that psilocybin may potentially help with complaints such as depression, anxiety disorders, addictions, and existential stress. Studies also examine the effect on neuroplasticity, the brain's ability to form new connections.

Other people come not for a medical reason, but out of an interest in personal development or spiritual growth. Psychedelic experiences can help break patterns, discover new perspectives, or feel a greater connection with themselves and the world.

Common reasons to consider a psychedelic session include, for example:

  1. Gain more self-insight and get to know yourself better

  2. Breaking old emotional patterns or blockages

  3. Reduce anxiety, depressive feelings, or stress

  4. Addressing addictions such as smoking or alcohol use

  5. Experience more creativity, inspiration, and intuition

  6. Exploring spiritual experiences or the search for meaning

  7. Coping with loss or major life events

  8. Feel more connected to others or nature

  9. Finding new motivation and direction in life

  10. Just curiosity about consciousness and psychedelic experiences

Often, it is not a single reason, but a combination of multiple motives. For example, people come for personal growth and emotional processing, or for a spiritual experience combined with therapeutic intentions.

Different types of participants

Although every participant is unique, there are certain groups of people who relatively often show interest in psychedelic sessions.

The self-discoverers

Some people feel that there is more within them than they experience in their daily lives. They are curious about the deeper layers of their personality and want to better understand who they truly are. Often, these people already have an interest in personal development, meditation, or philosophy, but feel that they have reached a certain limit.

A psychedelic experience can help to temporarily let go of the analytical mind and make direct contact with inner insights.

People who get stuck in patterns

Many people rationally understand what needs to change in their lives, but find that real change fails to materialize. For example, they keep falling back into the same relationship patterns, emotions, or habits.

Psychedelic experiences can help to temporarily step out of that familiar thought pattern. By experiencing a different perspective, what previously remained hidden sometimes suddenly becomes clear.

The philosophical or spiritual seeker

For some people, the search for meaning or consciousness is an important motivation. They may have read books on spirituality, psychology, or philosophy, but also want to explore these questions on an experiential level.

Psilocybin can evoke feelings of connectedness, unity, and deep wonder that are described in many spiritual traditions.

Creative people

Artists, writers, musicians, and designers sometimes seek ways to deepen their creativity or break through an artistic block. Psychedelic experiences can reveal new perspectives and unexpected connections.

People with burnout or existential questions

Some participants feel exhausted by modern society or experience a sense of meaninglessness or alienation. They seek to reconnect with what is truly important to them in life.

A psychedelic experience can help to rediscover priorities and reconnect with authentic values.

The scientifically curious

There are also people who are primarily interested in the workings of consciousness itself. They have read about the neuroscientific effects of psychedelics and want to experience this special state of consciousness from within.

The simply curious

Not everyone has a major crisis or a therapeutic goal. Some people are simply curious about what a psychedelic experience might mean. That open curiosity can be a valuable motivation in itself.

Scientific interest in psilocybin

The growing interest in psychedelic therapy stems in part from scientific research. Universities and research centers are studying the effects of psilocybin on, among other things:

  1. depression

  2. anxiety during serious illness

  3. addictions such as nicotine or alcohol

  4. post-traumatic stress

  5. cluster headache

Various studies are also examining the role of psilocybin in neuroplasticity and emotional processing. This means that the brain may become more flexible in forming new connections and letting go of old patterns.

Although these results are promising, this does not mean that psilocybin is a miracle cure. The context, guidance, and preparation play a major role in the outcome of a session.

When a psychedelic session is less suitable

Although psilocybin is considered relatively safe physically, there are situations in which participation is not recommended, or is temporarily not advised.

Examples of contraindications are:

  1. Psychotic disorders or a history of psychosis

  2. Schizophrenia or certain bipolar disorders

  3. Use of certain medications such as SSRIs, MAO inhibitors, or other psychoactive substances

  4. Serious cardiovascular problems

  5. Age under approximately 21

In such cases, alternatives or a safe way to stabilize certain factors are usually explored first before a psychedelic session is considered.

The importance of intake and preparation

Good preparation is essential for a safe and valuable experience. Therefore, many organizations use an intake process that assesses medical background, mental health, and personal goals.

Sometimes attention is also paid to lifestyle, nutrition, or balancing neurotransmitters through diet or supplements. The goal of this is to make the conditions as favorable as possible for a meaningful experience.

During an intake interview, what someone hopes to achieve is also discussed, as well as whether the expectations are realistic.

The value of professional guidance

Whether someone is a beginner or an experienced psychonaut, guidance can make a big difference. An experienced guide helps create a safe environment, can provide reassurance when an experience becomes intense, and supports the integration of insights afterward.

For beginners, this primarily provides peace of mind and confidence. For experienced users, guidance can actually help them go deeper than they would dare to on their own.

Everyone is unique, and so is every session.

Ultimately, there is no standard psychedelic experience. What someone brings to a session, such as intentions, expectations, and life history, plays a major role in how the experience unfolds.

Therefore, a session is ideally tailored to the individual. The dosage, guidance, and preparation are adapted to the participant's level of experience and goals.

For some, a psychedelic session is a first step towards self-insight. For others, it is part of a longer journey of personal or spiritual development.

What virtually everyone has in common is a curiosity about what becomes possible when you step briefly outside the boundaries of ordinary consciousness.
