Classic psychedelics

Classical psychedelics usually refer to natural mind-altering substances. What all these substances do to achieve their mind-altering effect is, indirectly, always the same: increasing the stimulation of serotonin receptors. In particular, stimulation of the 5-HT2a receptor is responsible for the mind-altering effect by altering signal conduction in the brain. Specifically, multiple areas of the brain, which typically do not communicate directly with each other, begin to communicate. At higher dosages, areas that usually process subconscious tasks can begin to communicate with your conscious brain, the frontal lobe. This can lead to relief from psychological complaints.

Endogenous psychedelics

Many people, particularly those unaware of psychedelics, deem psychedelics like magic mushrooms worthy of the negatively charged word "drugs." However, they are unaware that alcohol is a far worse drug than magic mushrooms and often drink one too many glasses of wine.

See the image below or via this link the differences in harmfulness of psilocybin, alcohol and other drugs.

Another argument for not actually calling psychedelics drugs is that everyone hallucinates every night because the body initiates the same process during sleep as psychedelics do while awake. Dreams are the result of increased activity of serotonin receptors, particularly the 5-HT2a receptor. So everyone uses their own "drugs" during sleep. While awake, you can also use techniques that resemble the effects of dreams and psychedelics. Meditation, hypnotherapy, breathwork therapy, and EMDR are examples. During these techniques, it seems to the body as if you are going to sleep and dreaming, causing the body to produce psychedelics (DMT and serotonin). The advantage of psychedelics, however, is that you can dose better, dose higher (up to 1000 times higher), and the effect is longer-lasting.

DMT and serotonin

DMT and serotonin are therefore our body's own psychedelics. The mind-altering effects occur when the concentration of these substances is increased. Low concentrations, on the other hand, lead to cognitive decline, depression, anxiety, insomnia, and other psychological complaints. The structure of DMT and serotonin molecules are similar, causing them to fit the same receptors.

Psilocin from magic mushrooms and truffles

Our bodies convert psilocybin from magic mushrooms into psilocin. Psilocin, much like our body's own serotonin and DMT, can stimulate the 5HT receptors. This primarily applies to the 5-HT2a receptor and to a lesser extent the 5-HT2c and 5-HT1a receptors. As a result, the human brain enters a sort of "sleep mode." The connection between the subconscious and conscious brain is established, and the higher the dosage, the more connections are made. This can lead to hallucinations, or dreaming while awake. An additional benefit is that in a dream state, one has no needs. There is no need for food, no necessity to achieve personal goals, and a state of contentment arises.

State of satisfaction

From a state of contentment, one can often be honest about what is truly important. We can be realistic about perfections and imperfections. Uncertainty and certainty are things you have control over. Another added benefit is that the subconscious mind, with all its ingrained patterns, is open to insights and changes. This, combined with neurogenesis, which creates new brain connections, allows people to truly change positively. All of this is possible with the power of something that resembles deep sleep.

We need to look beyond the old stigma

Everyone should embrace psilocybin mushrooms and magic truffles as a gift from nature. To date, so many people have benefited greatly from psilocybin treatment. All studies being conducted into psilocybin are concluding with a success rate higher than anything any pharmaceutical company could ever imagine. From our own experience, we can tell you that the success rate of studies could be even higher if love for the body is also included in a treatment plan.

What we can offer

Do you also want to grow in life? Our services encompass more than just organizing a mushroom ceremony. We always take our clients' goals into account. For instance, we have protocols that we adapt to the client's wishes. We have protocols for various issues such as:

  • Depression
  • Burnout
  • Fears (social, etc.)
  • Addictions (alcohol, cocaine, etc.)
  • Negative self-image (BDD, anorexia, etc.)

Prior to the truffle ceremony, we create a plan to physically prepare someone for the trip through nutrition, supplements, and exercise. The goal of this is to ensure that our clients realize that taking good care of oneself is rewarded. This insight only becomes truly clear during the trip, because the trip works better then—for example, because the receptors have been made more sensitive—and because everything suddenly “sinks” during that trip. During the preparation, we also sometimes give assignments whose meaning only becomes clear during the trip.

What a trip therapy program looks like

We believe that a healthy body provides a healthy foundation for mental health as well. We therefore do everything we can to address all facets of existence, which is why we advise our clients on nutrition, exercise, and supplements. This holistic approach to body and mind ensures the best results in the short and long term. Generally, for most clients, we use a schedule that looks as follows:

  1. Report, neurotransmitter test and intake
  2. Advice on nutrition exercise and supplements based on point 1
  3. A period of 2-3 weeks of progress reviewing point 2
  4. An individual psychedelic ceremony (unless a group offers additional benefit or preference)
  5. Review of the truffle ceremony on the same day
  6. After about 1-2 weeks, another follow-up discussion

Extras during the ceremony

Our psychedelic therapy by means of a truffle ceremony includes the following extras to make the experience even better:

  • Individual counselling truffle ceremony
  • Aromatherapy (during trip)
  • Colour therapy (during trip)
  • Musical support (adapted to need)

Possibilities of trip therapy

The greatest benefit of a trip therapy session is that, through introspection (looking within yourself), we can gently guide you to change your self-image. Many addictions, anxieties, stress, depressions, and other personal problems stem from a (negative) distorted self-image, unrealistic thoughts, or subconscious stress caused by fears in the subconscious. If you treat yourself to the best in terms of nutrition, thoughts, and exercise, this will have a positive effect during and after the trip, because these lifestyle changes are perceived as logical during the experience. Be good to your body and mind, and they will be good to you in return. You deserve to be the best version of yourself.
