Dr Strange’s psychedelic scene

Yesterday I guided a returning client who, following an introductory low-dose psilocybin session, had tried ayahuasca. After the ayahuasca ceremony, this client wanted to try Psiloflora, specifically the extended version incorporating more synergistic plants for a deeper experience. During the Psiloflora session, there were many vivid impressions and a great deal happened. The scene described below was similar to what took place at the peak of the session.

Psilocybin or LSD in your tea?

It feels as though something has healed

During this Psiloflora session, this person felt that something had been healed whilst their head was being pointed at. Exactly what this meant could not be put into words. It is often the case that psychedelic sessions and the experience they bring are indescribable, and there is no need for them to be. As soon as we try to put them into words, information is lost because words are merely frameworks with limited meaning.

So what is the cure?

Physical changes in the brain caused by psychedelic sessions can indeed be measured. Neuroplasticity increases due to the heightened stimulation of the formation of new neural connections. These new connections alter the way stimuli are transmitted, enabling old patterns and negative circular thinking to be broken.

Psychedelics can have a healing effect in various ways, as they trigger a number of psychological and biochemical processes. The increased level of neuroplasticity is partly caused by BDNF, which is released as a result of the stimulation of the 5HT2a receptor by psychedelics.

The stress-reducing effects of psychedelic sessions have a long-term positive impact on BDNF and overall health. Stress reduction is currently attributed to the fact that the Default Mode Network (DMN), which focuses on the past and the future, is put on the back burner. Less anxiety about what lies ahead leads to lower cortisol levels and enhances the body’s self-healing capacity.
