At Triptherapie, we understand that cultural and spiritual safety is as important as the therapeutic setting itself. Deep inner processes often work better when they take place in an environment where someone feels truly seen, understood and recognised - including in terms of faith and identity.

That is why we offer the possibility to undergo psychedelic sessions guided by a Jewish therapist who has extensive experience with psychedelics and therapeutic work. This counsellor speaks Dutch (Flemish), English and Yiddish, and knows how to connect with the experiences of Jewish participants with integrity, regardless of their religious denomination or degree of orthodoxy.

A therapist who understands your background

Our Jewish facilitator is not only professionally trained in working with psychedelics, but also has a deep personal and cultural affinity with Jewish thought. During sessions, he takes religious or spiritual wishes into account if required. Consider:

  1. Kosher food during multi-day courses

  2. Jewish symbolism, music and rituals in preparation or integration

  3. A respectful and safe space where Jewish identity is allowed to take centre stage

This approach ensures that participants from diverse Jewish communities can feel at home in the process - whether they are seeking healing, spiritual deepening or existential meaning.

Individual or group

We offer both private sessions and group sessions in which Jewish participants come together within a shared cultural context. In consultation, we ensure that the right facilitators and facilities are used, depending on your needs. Some group sessions take place in collaboration with existing Jewish communities, mainly from the Netherlands, Belgium and the UK.

In group sessions, the Jewish facilitator will also provide support after the session of around six hours. In Private sessions, you can choose between six-hour or 12-hour support. With 12-hour support, you will receive additional support once the formal session is over, which is ideal for integrating certain parts of the psychedelic session therapeutically as well as in a way that suits the faith.

Interested or questions?

Are you Jewish and considering a therapeutic session with psilocybin or MDMA, but looking for a setting where your faith and cultural identity are taken seriously? Through our intake for psychedelic therapy you can indicate that you would like to be guided by a Jewish therapist. We will then ensure that your session is fully customised.

You are welcome as you are.

Nice to see you have this covered for the Jewish community! There is so much need for proper psychedelic support, especially now with the war that opened old wounds!

Within Triptherapie, we have seen a clear growth in recent years in the number of Jewish participants opting for a pathway involving psilocybin or, previously, MDMA. These participants come, among others, from Jewish communities in the Netherlands, Belgium and the UK. What they often have in common is the desire to do deep inner work within a setting where their cultural and religious background is taken seriously.

Psychedelic processes can touch existential layers: themes around identity, generations, trauma, belief and meaning-making. Especially then, it is important that a person feels safe not only psychologically, but also culturally.

Cultural and spiritual bedding

Within our psychedelic therapy courses we tailor the guidance to the participant's personal background. For Jewish participants, this means that there is room for:

  1. Kosher food at multi-day courses

  2. Taking into account religious customs or moments of rest

  3. Music, symbolism or texts in keeping with Jewish tradition

  4. Co-guidance by a therapist with knowledge of Jewish thought

We find that this alignment not only provides comfort, but also allows for deepening. When a person feels fully recognised in who he or she is, there is more openness to the therapeutic process.

Group ceremony with Jewish participants only

Some participants deliberately choose a group ceremony with only Jewish participants. These sessions take place in Schiedam, among other places, and are carefully tailored to the group. The sense of community plays an important role in this.

Within such a setting, shared history can be acknowledged naturally. Music, atmosphere and guidance are tailored to the cultural context of the group. In addition, a Jewish therapist is present who is both professionally trained in psychedelic counselling and familiar with religious sensitivities.

For some participants, it feels safer to share intense inner processes with people who intuitively understand certain cultural references. This creates a form of mutual recognition and softness in the group.

Individual session with Jewish psychological support

Other participants opt instead for an individual session. For example, that could be a psilocybin session or MDMA session, fully tailored to personal goals such as trauma healing, depression symptoms, meaning or relationship issues.

In individual processes, there is the possibility of having a Jewish psychologist or therapist present for support. This can be helpful when religious themes, guilt or shame experiences, family patterns or spiritual questions are an explicit part of the process.

In addition, extended counselling (e.g. 12 hours) can be chosen so that integration receives extra attention after the session. Especially at this stage, it can be valuable to translate insights into a way of life that fits within one's own faith and community.

Interested in a Jewish setting?

Are you (Orthodox) Jewish and considering a psychedelic session within a Kosher and culturally attuned environment? Then you can indicate your wishes via the intake for psychedelic therapy. Together, we consider whether a group ceremony with only Jewish participants is appropriate, or whether an individual session with Jewish psychological support would better suit your needs.
