Questions about Dysthymia and psilocybin therapy
Today I received the following three questions via email, and I would like to share the answers on the forum. Perhaps this can help more people.
Answer 1:
Currently, there are no ongoing studies that specifically mention dysthymia, and the studies being conducted on depression are general. As you can see via the link below, medications that stimulate serotonin and dopamine release or block reuptake are widely used, just as with other forms of depression and anxiety disorders.
According to various studies, psilocybin can often do better than those medications in a single or just a few sessions.
Answer 2:
It is best not to take antidepressants and psychedelics at the same time. It is best to consult with the prescribing doctor and ask if and how you can taper off the medication. By law, we are not allowed to advise whether and which medication you should take.
Answer 3:
There is no accreditation within psychedelic therapy yet. Therefore, you must find trust in a provider yourself, for example by reading reviews.
In trip therapy, the focus is on neurochemistry, and talk therapy only in second place; hence the background in biochemistry.
