Is magic mushroom therapy legal in the Netherlands now?
In the Netherlands, mushroom therapy has been illegal since 2008. However, a legal alternative form of therapy is available that uses magic truffles. Magic truffles contain the same active substances as magic mushrooms but are legal in the Netherlands. This makes it possible to offer psychedelic therapy with these truffles, which can provide a therapeutic experience comparable to that of magic mushrooms.
A session involving magic truffles can be used to treat various mental health conditions, such as depression, anxiety disorders and low self-esteem. The use of psilocybin in a therapeutic setting has been the subject of increasing research in recent years, and promising results have emerged that support the effectiveness of this therapy.
At Triptherapie, we offer a structured approach that focuses not only on the psychedelic experience but also on guidance and aftercare. This includes providing nutritional and exercise advice, as well as testing neurotransmitters to ensure a holistic approach to health. All of this is aimed at achieving long-lasting positive results.
* Psilocybin or truffle therapy is only legal in the Netherlands as a non-medical treatment and falls outside the scope of mainstream mental health care. Colloquially, this is regarded more as coaching than clinical therapy.

Would you be okay with me taking my own home-grown magic mushrooms instead of truffles during the session?
