Where can I get trained to become a tripsitter?
There are various options for training as a tripsitter, although there is no official certification or recognized training program for tripsitters. It is a relatively new field, and the knowledge and experience are primarily acquired through self-study, training, and practical experience.
However, there are organizations and institutes that offer training and workshops in the field of psychedelic therapy and tripsitting. These training courses can help you acquire the necessary knowledge and skills to perform tripsitting safely and responsibly. These programs are useful for onboarding, but offer no guarantee of a job, certification, or future reimbursement from health insurers.
Some well-known organizations that offer training are MAPS (Multidisciplinary Association for Psychedelic Studies) and the Psychedelic Society. In addition, there are individual coaches and therapists who offer workshops and training in the field of psychedelic therapy and tripsitting.
When choosing a course or training, it is important to consider the background and experience of the trainers, the content of the training, and whether it aligns with your personal goals and interests. Additionally, it is recommended to gain experience through internships or by leading trips under the supervision of experienced trip sitters.
It is also important to emphasize that tripsitting is a responsibility and that it is crucial to always prioritize the safety and well-being of the person tripping. It is therefore advisable to prepare yourself well and to continue learning and developing in this area.

Currently, we offer this onboarding program exclusively to new colleagues. This is with an eye to the future, enabling them to join mainstream care.
If you would like to use this program for the goal of personal growth, you can also participate in a group session in Schiedam or book an individual session with one of our facilitators. You will be shown how a session works and have ample space to experience the growth you desire.
